background:

ASLI Botanical Skincare is a hypothetical brand that is based on black female founders who are also estheticians. Their goal is to create safe yet effective skincare that addresses skin concerns that people of color are more likely to have such as hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, and eczema.

the problem:

The ideal consumer doesn’t realize there are skincare products available for them. Importantly, the target market has an initial belief that black beauty needs more representation - furthermore they are struggling to find community.

the strategy:

Showcase real African American clients, real skin concerns, and visually display the brand based on African skin complexions for authenticity. Create a community through social media presence with interactivity. 

unique selling proposition:

ASLI carries strong foundational values and mission as a company to promote inclusion and activism. They have trained estheticians who crafted each formula to target diverse skin types.
